A delegation from Cheltenham, UK visited our school

In order to further strengthen the friendly exchanges between Weihai city and Cheltenham city of the UK and deepen the cooperation between the two cities in education and other fields’ .On October 19th, mayor of Cheltenham and a delegation of 20 people paid a friendly visit to our school. Fredwu, president of our school, John Hamill, academic President, and other faculty members warmly welcomed the British guests .This exchange visit has strengthened the friendly cooperation between our school and British universities, improved the effect of international competiveness of our school, built a new international platform for students to expand their vision and enhance their ability, and also promoted the development of the international construction of Weihai city, as well as played a positive role in the friendly exchanges between Chinese and British cities.

During this visit, the delegation of the city of Cheltenham conducted extensive exchanges in education, including BTEC diploma course, short-term exchange program, summer camp and winter camp program, short-term training of teachers, and sailing events in our school, etc., at last the bilateral friendly exchanges in education reached a cooperation intention. The Gloucester College and our school have signed the memorandum of cooperation between Weihai Ivy International School and Gloucester College, which conducted extensive friendly cooperation on exchange students, study tours, sailing and other projects. The signing ceremony was witnessed by the mayor of Weihai Zhang Haibo and the mayor of Cheltenham city, indicating that long-term friendly cooperation between the two cities and schools will be carried out in the future.

On the morning of the same day, a delegation from Cheltenham came to visit the teaching building of our school. They had a comprehensive understanding of the teaching equipment and teachers of our school, and communicated with teachers and students of our school in a cordial manner. They appreciated the learning situation, interests and specialties of students and their academic planning.

On the first floor conference room in the main building, our academic President John were introduced in detail the development of Ivy International School, teaching characteristics, curriculum, and graduates information, etc. .By doing this, the foreign guests had a more overall and comprehensive understanding about school campus environment, the academic achievements of teaching in recent years.

Brendan, the foreign sailing coach of our school, introduced the school's characteristic sport -- sailing. Ivy International School is the sailing training institution designated by American sailing association (ASA), and also the sailing training base in Shandong province. It has the advanced sailing equipment in China, and the professional sailing teaching helps students apply for overseas famous universities smoothly. The Cheltenham delegation showed great interests in sailing sports of our school.

The delegation expressed sincere thanks for the warm reception of our school and introduced the economy and education of Cheltenham city in detail to our school staff. They welcome teachers and students of our school to visit Cheltenham city in order to strengthen the friendly interaction between the two cities. Our school and the Cheltenham delegation exchange souvenirs and hope to have more opportunities for friendly exchanges in the future.

Cheltenham city is the first British city to establish friendly city relations with Weihai City. The two sides have conducted extensive exchanges and cooperation in economy, technology, culture, education and other aspects, especially in education .The visit is aimed at deepening exchanges between the two citizens, boosting education cooperation and expanding cooperation in other areas.
