Why should you have your child to join an international school?Before we dig into the answer to the question posted above, let us first define what an international school is: "An international school is a school that promotes international education, in an international environment, either by adopting a curriculum such as that of the International Baccalaureate, Edexcel or Cambridge International Examinations or by following a national curriculum different from that of the school's country of residence.” (Wikipedia). As you can see, an international school has somewhat broad meaning behind it. In simple, an international school is a school which has teachers and students from various national backgrounds using different curriculum than that are offered in the local public schools. Now the definition has been explained lets us get to the answer for the question. 1. It will broaden the perception of your child as well as enable your child to be a global leader. Students in an international school will be educated with an internationally recognized educational curriculum. By being educated with an international curriculum your child could adopt more various aspects of critical thinking. It will enlighten your child to be able to be more creative and open minded since they have their as well as from international minds. With this advanced thinking skill, your child will be empowered with the potential to become a global leader. 2. It will help your child to be able to understand different cultures. (see the world as a whole) With the fast developing technology, we can travel, communicate, and live anywhere we desire to. This means as your child grows up the world will be one big nation. When the time comes it is important for your child to be understanding and tolerable of other cultures. There is no hierarchy in cultures. Your child needs to be able to respect the differences and at the same time be able to express his or her own culture to others in a respectful manner. This is the way to grow positively with each other. 3. It will open up more opportunities for your child’s future. (bilingual or trilingual) If you enroll your child into an international school your child will be educated in English which is the common international language we use in the world. It means your child will be bilingual (if not trilingual) when he or she finishes high school education. Being able to communicate in multiple languages have a tremendous advantage for students. They can enter into prestigious universities in many countries for their higher education. It also means more various possible opportunities for their vocational options not limited to the local workplaces. There are more advantages of sending your child to an international school other than what is listed above.
