The First Meeting of Sharing Experiences in Studying Abroad in WHIVYAfter the Open Day on 10th January, lots of parents and students from neighboring schools in Weihai came to WHIVY to join the Study Abroad Experience Sharing Meeting. It was a time of fun, interactions and sharing to everyone who attended. A welcome speech and introduction of the school by Principal Stephen Seo to all the guests. On the other hand, one of the marketing staffs Rick said that there were still many problems to Chinese overseas students. He further mentioned that “studying abroad doesn’t mean students finish their studies successfully”. Michelle Wang, University of Toronto graduate shared her experiences and pieces of advice to the audiences. She emphasized on how to adapt to foreign language environment, how to do time management and self- management are very important for students. Donnie shared also his interesting life in American university. Lastly, Academic counselor-Sharon He, emphasized on the “Five Factors for University Application and Preparation Work” before students study overseas. Ryan Wakefield, an American teacher talking about the great challenges and opportunities for students studying abroad. “Going to international schools, can help students prepare better before they study abroad,” he said. A father sharing his daughter’s improvements since she attended the school. WHIVY students Castle, Caleb and May sharing the knowledge and skills they developed since they’ve been in this school. Their confidence and performances won rounds of applause from the audiences. |
