IVY one-to-one parents’ meeting, find the good approach for the growth of children!

The mid-term exam is over, in order to keep parents informed about their child's learning during this time and know the future direction. IVY hosted a unique one-on-one parents’ meeting last Friday. All the teachers and college counselors were present at the parents' meeting. The parents talked one-on-one with the teachers according to their children's achievements and other problems. The teachers provided some feedback and suggestions for parents according to the students' usual learning situation and attitude. Through such a form, each parent can learn more about their children's situation and better promote the student's progress.

Before the official start of the one-on-one meeting, John, the academic president of our school, gave a concluding speech to the parents. John said that parents should treat children's academic performance rationally and appreciation their efforts, especially in learning English. Those students with good grades should not be proud, continue to work hard. For students who don’t have good grades, don’t be discouraged and keep working hard. It is recommended that our teachers and parents should communicate more with students, encourage students to take notes in English classes and review knowledge in English after class to digest knowledge. For students with learning difficulties, teachers should help him more, and constantly improve the teaching methods so that each student can better receive knowledge. In the following study, our teachers and parents will encourage the children to make progress and prepare for the final exam.

At the meeting, the parents took the list of teachers from various departments and were led by the school staff to the relevant teachers. In the two classrooms, IVY teachers gathered in the group and waited for the parents to come. Parents consulted the relevant teachers on their children's grades to get a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the children.

This form of parents meeting is completely different from the traditional one. It is difficult for parents in the traditional parent meeting to understand the specific situation of their children in school and they cannot fully communicate with the teachers. It is difficult to effectively solve problems. In contrast, IVY's parent meeting is personalized and it pays attention to each student, lets each parent understand the child's situation, and then analyzes the specific problem to solve the child's problems.

On the academic transcripts, IVY provides parents with not only the results of individual subjects, but also the students' usual learning situation, interest development, and daily performance, and analyzes the reasons and solutions for these situations. Parents could communicate with their teachers about their own problems, listen carefully to the teachers' opinions, rationally look at their children's learning and growth, and work together to promote their progress.

At the parent meeting, the teacher not only objectively pointed out the problems of the students, but also provided the solutions for parents and students. Parents listened carefully and took notes, and also thought about the advice given by the teacher. Our academic principal, John, also participated in one-on-one consultations as a biology teacher, and spared no effort to provide good learning advice for parents and students.

Students' progress requires parents and schools to work together, and an effective home-school communication mechanism can make a difference. Ivy has always maintained close contact with parents, often sharing the students' behaviours in the school for parents, letting parents know more about their children's learning and activities, and communicating with parents from time to time, how to let children make more progress. The parents meeting is a rare opportunity to bring parents, teachers and students together to give parents feedback on all aspects of their children in school. At the same time, they are open to discussing their children's education.

In terms of education, Ivy has always been student-centered, calling on parents to participate more in the growth of their children. Ivy will create more and better platforms to achieve the all-round development of students, lay a solid foundation for students' dreams, and go all out to help students make progress.
