IVY Parents Community : Construction of Family & School Bridge and Focus on Children’s Growth

In the morning of May 21 (Sunday), 2018, the thirdactivity of IVY Parents Community was held in the cafe on the first floor ofthe school. We especially invited Yang Fei, our executive director and 6A charactereducation expert from Beijing to give us a ‘6A Character Education’ special salonwith the theme of ‘Life affects life and grows with children.

Yang Fei specially designed ‘1+9’ 6A charactereducation class for IVY parents. One special lecture plus nine parentsdiscussion sections will be held successively. In the lecture of last Sunday, TeacherYang explained to IVY parents in terms of what is the primary goal ofcultivating a child, four patterns of parent-child relationship, the law ofbalance between love and discipline, character and career, and how to get alongwith children, etc. around the basic principles of 6A education---Acceptance,Appreciation, Affection, Availability, Accountability and Authority. Parentsnot only got to know the courses of 6A character education, but also deepenedtheir recognition on themselves, family members as well as children’s behaviorpattern through study for more than two hours. All participants benefited a lotfrom the class.

Middle age is just the time when life experience,understanding, memory and learning ability reach the peak. It is the best timeto grow. The so-called ‘midlife crisis’ is often regarded as the process of metamorphosis.It is the process of renewal of belief system. With the love to our children, wecan get rid of stagnant laziness and start over. All experience accumulated inprevious life has become the powerful foundation for lifting us up during theprocess of supporting a new life. Thank our children for giving us theopportunity to grow and change.
